In the 'home network' wired Ethernet entry, I have changed the 'unknown-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX' [where the Xs stands for the device MAC address] into 'DVR-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX'. This is achieved by selecting the 'unknown device' in home networks>Ethernet>select device>configure, then type 'DVR' or any other name different from 'unknown'. The 784n has been stabled for 1+day. Hope this helps.

The initial thread was called 'Modem Pro locks when ADSL is disconnected'. Thanks to FILDSL, I think now that the issue [of modem Thomson/Tecnicolor/Alcatel 784n aka 'OVH Pro' locking] is beyond just the ADSL disconnect, so I started a new thread.
++++++++++
In the thread 'Modem Pro locks when ADSL is disconnected', fildsl says:

My experience is that any 'unknown' device on the wired-LAN side seems to lock the 784n and disable both http & telnet; WLAN is unaffected and stays up ! These 'unknown' devices can be devices that are powered down but still connected by RJ45. I will try tonight a direct connection to the 784n internal RJ45 1 to 4, versus through a switch as it is now. Funny part is that [even though the 784n is locked on the LAN wired-RJ45 side] you still have access to 192.168.1.254, http and telnet through the WLAN side; you can see [on the 784n config web page accessed through the WLAN] that some devices are 'unknown', even when their MAC is displayed; unplugging these devices will sometimes 'unlock' the 784n, but not all the times. Another issue is that these 'unknown devices' sometimes remain in the 784n LAN table, even when disconnected and after a 784n restart, then keep locking the 784n :-( Any suggestion ?
