Hiding an IP for security reasons is clueless. You are welcome to reveal it, there is no risk.
Say your domain is example.com and you want to set the reverse of your server 11.22.33.44 to myserver.example.com
1) ensure that myserver.example.com resolves correctly as 11.22.33.44
2) only after that you set the reverse (PTR) of 11.22.33.44 so that it resolves to myserver.example.com
Also can you specify what kind of server it is ? VPS Cloud, VPS Classic, Cloud KS-x, RunAbove, OVH dédié, Kimsufi ?
